Passenger guide - Muscat airport (MCT) 

 

Muscat International Airport, also known as Seeb International Airport and opened on December 23, 1973, is the busiest in Oman. It operates with international flights in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa's Arab countries.

Annual passenger traffic: More than 12 million passengers went through it in 2016.

The airport is located 32 km (20 miles) west from Muscat urban area.

Bus - There are services from Mwasalat (Tel +968 2412 1555) that stop on Sultan Qaboos Highway, outside the airport complex. Journey time to the city centre is 20-25 minutes. Oman Air first and business class passengers can take advantage of a door-to-door shuttle service to and from the enclosure.

Taxi - Metered vehicles available to all destinations in Muscat and outside the city, including Barka, Al Musana, Nakhal, Sohar, Samail and Izki. Cabs can be booked and pre-paid at the counter located outside the Arrivals area (Tel +968 2434 1297). Travel time to downtown Muscat is approximately 25 minutes.

 

Avis (Tel +968 2451 0342), Budget (Tel +968 2451 0816), Europcar (Tel +968 2452 1369), Hertz (Tel +968 2452 1187), Mark (Tel +968 2478 6885), Shuram (Tel +968 2469 6299), Sixt (Tel +968 2451 0224), Thrifty (Tel +968 2452 1189) and Value Plus (Tel +968 2451 0292) have offices in the Arrivals Hall.

 

The airport has currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, post office, VIP rooms, mobile phone services, public telephones and Wi-Fi access free of charge. Conference facilities at several hotels in the vicinity, such as the Golden Tulip Seeb.

Food and Drinks- In the Arrivals and Departures areas there are restaurants, cafés and bars.
Shopping- Duty-free shops in the international sector, in addition to retailers selling perfumes, accessories, jewellery, toys, books, regional articles.
Baggage- Free trolleys in the car parks, in front of the Departures Hall and in the luggage reclaim area. Porter services in the Arrivals and Departures areas. Secure wrapping next to the check-in area. Lost and found counter in the baggage recollection hall.
Other Services- Prayer rooms, medical clinic, smoking lounges, travel agencies, children's playground, pharmacy.

 

Car parks are found a short walk away from the terminal building. Payment can be made at automated machines situated at the exit from each lot and attendants are available 24 hours a day to offer assistance. There are lifts and escalators connecting the three levels of the terminal. Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs should contact their airline before travelling.
