Passenger guide - Kuwait airport (KWI) 

 

Kuwait International Airport, opened in 1927, is the largest in the country. It operates with international destinations in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, North America and Africa's Arab countries.

The airport is located in Farwaniya, 16 km (10 miles) to the south of Kuwait City.

Bus - Line 13 travels to Khaitan, Shuwaikh and Swivel Sheraton. Route 99 goes to Abbasid, Jileeb Alshuyoukh, Hasawi, Farwaniya, Khaitan, South Surra and Subhan. Bus 501 runs to Farwaniya, Alomariya, Alrabiya and Raqa'i. Services operate between 4:30 am and 11:45 pm and depart from outside the Arrivals area. Taxi - There is a reservation counter in the Arrivals Hall and the trip to Kuwait City takes 20-30 minutes. It is advised to agree on a price before starting the trip.

Car rental counters are found in the Arrivals area. The airport has banks, currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, VIP rooms, mobile phone services, public telephones and Wi-Fi access free of charge. The Safir Airport Hotel, located inside the enclosure, has a business center with several services.

Food and Drinks- Coffee shops, fast food outlets and restaurants inside the food court and the Commercial Center, next to the Arrivals Hall.
Shopping- Inside the grounds there is a Commercial Center with a wide offer of shops, including duty-free stores, perfumes, books, jewellery, clothing, music, souvenirs.
Baggage- Secure luggage wrapping 24 hours a day in baggage areas 1, 2, 3 and 4. Enquiries about lost property should be directed to Tel +965 2474 4256 / 2471 0683.
Other Services- Travel agencies, medical center, pharmacies, barber shop.

 

There are short- and long-term parking bays. Options include a multi-storey facility next to the Commercial Centre, an outdoor area next to the Arrivals Hall, and a parking lot for long stays a short distance away from the terminal.

 

Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs should inform their airline about their needs prior to their travel. There are lifts, ramps, travelators, adapted restrooms, accessible telephones and reserved parking spaces.

 

The Safir Airport Hotel (Tel +965 2472 5000) is situated 10 minutes away from the terminal and has a courtesy shuttle service, but it is only available for passengers in transit. Most other accommodations in the surroundings are found inside the city.
