Passenger guide - Tokyo - Haneda airport (HND) 

 

Tokyo International Airport, also known as Haneda Airport and opened on August 25, 1931, is the most important in the country and one of the busiest in the world. It concentrates all domestic flights in the area and operates with international flights to Southeast Asia, North America, the Middle East, Europe and Oceania.

Number of Terminals - 3 - Terminals 1 and 2 (domestic flights, open from 5:00 am to 0:00 am) and International Terminal (open 24 hours a day). Terminals 1 and 2 are connected through an underground walkway. On the other hand, a courtesy shuttle bus service links all terminals every 4 minutes between 4:48 am and 0:00 am.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 79.5 million passengers went through it in 2016.

There are also information counters in several locations around the enclosure and a tourist office on the second floor of the International Terminal.

 

The airport is situated in the town of Ota, 16 km (10 miles) to the south of Tokyo.

Bus - There are numerous services to destinations in Tokyo and the Kanto region provided by Airport Limousine Bus (Tel +81 336 657 220) and Keikyu Bus (Tel +81 334 474 822). Journey time to the city centre is around 40 minutes and stops are located on the first floor of all terminals. Destinations inside Tokyo include Hino, Takao, Shinjuku, Akasaka, Nogata, Chofu, Ikebukuro, Mejiro, Ichinoe, Kinshicho, Machida, Shinagawa, Tachikawa, Kichijoji, Shibuya, Kitasenju, Kamotsu, Omori and Kamata. There are also buses to the Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Shizuoka, Yamanashi and Nagano prefectures, and to Narita Airport (65-85 min. trip).

Train - Keikyu Line (Tel +81 357 898 686) runs to Keikyu Kamata Station in 10 minutes from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm (9:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekends and holidays), and has stations between the domestic terminals and on the underground level of the International Terminal. Other destinations include Tenkubashi, Shinagawa and Yokohama. Tokyo Monorail (Tel +81 333 744 303) has stations on level B1 of terminals 1 and 2 and on the third floor of the International Terminal, and goes to the Shin-seibijo, Tenkubashi, Tennouzu-airu and Hamamatsu-cho stations in 17 min. It operates Mondays through Fridays between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm and weekends from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Connections to other train services allow you to reach central Tokyo in 30 min. and Narita Airport in 90 min.

Ferry - Behind the International Terminal there is a wharf where you can board boats from KMC (Tel +81 452 908 377) to Odaiba and Yokohama (90 minutes).

Taxi - Ranks are found opposite the Arrivals area of the terminals. Travel time to the city centre is 25-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Reservations at Tel +81 364 280 888.

The airport has banks, ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, postal and mobile phones services, VIP lounges, charging stations, public telephones, internet kiosks and Wi-Fi access free of charge. Meeting and conference rooms on the sixth floor of Terminal 1.

Food and Drinks- A wide variety of Eastern and Western restaurants, cafés, fast food outlets and bars is available. Inside the International Terminal there are some options that open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- Duty-free articles in the Departures area of the International Terminal, in addition to convenience stores and shops selling souvenirs, toys, fashion, accessories, books, sweets, jewellery.
Baggage- Carts available inside the terminals, the parking lots, the train stations, the bus stops and the taxi ranks.
