Passenger guide - Tel Aviv - Ben Gurion airport (TLV) 

 

Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport, opened in 1936, is the most important in Israel and one of the safest in the world, with a modern access control system based on the data from your credit card and a biometric hand reader. It operates with domestic destinations and international flights in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe and North America.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Terminal 1 (domestic flights) and Terminal 3 (international flights), open 24 hours a day. A free shuttle service connects both buildings around the clock. Stops are located in front of Gate 4 in Terminal 1 and on level G of Terminal 3.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 17.9 million passengers went through it in 2016.

The airport is located 14 km (9 miles) to the southeast of Tel Aviv and 50 km (30 miles) northwest from Jerusalem.

Bus - Line 5 from Egged (Tel +972 3694 8888), route 13 from Kavim (Tel +972 3773 2060 / 1700 700 181) and bus 239 from Veolia (Tel 1900 721 111) depart from level 2, in Terminal 3, and run to Airport City and El Al Junction. Services leave from there to other cities and destinations in the area: line 244 - Ramat Gan Ayalon Mall, Ramla; 249 - Petah Tikva, Rehovot; 423 - Petha Tikva, Jerusalem; 930 - Netanya, Jerusalem; 943 - Hadera, Jerusalem; 947 - Haifa, Jerusalem, Netanya, Ra'anana Junction; 950 - Jerusalem, Netanya. Kavim also operates services to Shoham and Modi'in, while Metropoline (Tel +972 1222 5900) travels to Be'er Sheva. On the other hand, line 485 from Afikim (Tel +972 3525 2555) operates around the clock to Jerusalem (Fridays until 2:00 pm, Saturdays from 7:00 pm). Bon Tour (Tel +972 3975 4200), Elad Tours (Tel +972 3943 0606) and Seshir (Tel +972 3975 4033) provide transportation services to and from the airport.

Train - Services from Israel Railways (Tel +972 3577 4000) link the airport with Savidor Central Station 24 hours a day, with a journey time of 20 minutes. Intermediate stops include HaShalom, HaHagana, Nahariya, Haifa, Modi'in, Be'er Sheva, Lod, Kiryat Gat and Lehavim. They leave from the lower level of Terminal 3.

Taxi - Ranks are located outside the Arrivals Halls. Dispatcher posts are situated near Gate 3 of Terminal 1 and on level G of Terminal 3. Hadar Lod Taxis (Tel +972 3971 1103) provide transportation to destinations around the entire country. Nesher Taxis (Tel +972 2625 7227) go to Jerusalem and the surrounding area, while Amal Taxis (Tel +972 4866 2324) travel to Haifa and neighboring regions.

Car rental desks are located in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 3 and operate 24 hours a day. Avis (Tel +972 3975 4400), Budget (Tel +972 3935 0026), Dollar/Thrifty (Tel +972 3975 4321), Eldan (Tel +972 3975 4536/4537), Hertz (Tel +972 3975 4505), Shlomo Sixt (Tel +972 3977 3500).

 

The airport has banks, ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, post office, VIP lounges, mobile phone services, charging stations, public telephones and free Wi-Fi access.

Food and Drinks- There is a wide variety of options, with local and international restaurants, fast food outlets, cafés, bars, pizza stores and vending machines.
Shopping- Duty-free shops in the Departures areas. There are also stores selling electronics, clothing, sport goods, music, sweets, books, newspapers and magazines, flowers, jewellery, accessories, toys.
Baggage- Trolleys free of charge on the Departures level. Left luggage service and lost and found office to the west of the short-term car park; available from Sunday to Thursday between 8:00 am and 7:45 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm (Tel +972 3975 4436).
Other Services- First aid clinics, synagogues, baby changing room, travel agencies, pharmacy, gas station, children's play areas.

 

There are several parking lots for short and long stays inside the grounds, in addition to a passenger pick-up lane in front of Terminal 3 which is free for up to 15 minutes. 2-wheeler vehicles can park for free in any lot. More information: Tel +972 3975 2550. Rates

Terminal 1 Car Park - Multi-storey facility across from Terminal 1.
Terminal 3 Long-Term Parking - Area with covered and uncovered bays adjacent to Terminal 3.
Car Park 15 - Outdoor and roofed spaces for long periods, available 24 hours a day. A free shuttle service connects this area with Terminal 3 every 10-20 min.
Car Park 13 - Situated next to the cargo terminal, open from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm.

 

Disabled passengers should inform their airline in advance about any special requirement. Services include escort and assistance through the departure and arrival procedures. Facilities include accessible telephones and adapted toilets, raised pedestrian crossings, ramps and lifts. Ambulifts are also available to board the aircraft, as well as reserved parking spaces.
