Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport, opened on May 8, 2004, is the largest in Iran, concentrating most international flights in the area. It operates with destinations in the Middle and Far East and the main locations in Europe.

Number of Terminals - 1 - Open 24 hours a day.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 8.8 million passengers went through it in 2017.

The airport is located 30 km (19 miles) southwest from Tehran.

The airport has banks, ATMs, postal services, VIP lounges, chargers for mobile devices and free Wi-Fi access.

- Duty-free stores on the Departures level, local goods, spices, souvenirs, flowers.
Baggage- The lost and found office is handled by the airport police and is located in the luggage reclaim area, on the Arrivals level (Tel +98 215 100 7328 / 7014 / 7897).

Bus - There is a service to Mehrebad Airport and Azadi Square, in the city centre, with stops in several metro stations from Haram-e-Motahar and Shohada. Buses depart from outside the Arrivals area.

Metro - The closest station is located in Haram. From there, line 1 travels to the city centre from 5:30 am to 11:00 pm. Intermediate stops include Mirdamad, Mosalla, Taleghani, Saadi, Molavi, Khazaneh, Shohada, Haram-e-Motahar. More information: Tel +98 216 674 7500. Timetable and fares

Taxi - A counter is available near the main arrivals gate, where you can hire a cab for a fixed price. The official operators are Garrison (Tel 1833), Tehran Wireless Taxi (Tel 1828) and Luxury Taxi (Tel 1891). The trip to downtown Tehran takes about 90 minutes.

Passengers requiring wheelchairs or special assistance should contact their airline prior to their travel. The enclosure has ramps, elevators and adapted toilets.
