Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, opened in 1946, is the busiest in India. It operates with numerous domestic flights and international destinations in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Terminal 1 (domestic flights) and Terminal 2 (domestic and international flights), open 24 hours a day. A free shuttle bus service links both buildings around the clock, with a frequency of 20-30 minutes.
Annual passenger traffic: More than 48.4 million passengers went through it in 2017.

The airport is located 26 km (16 miles) to the north of Mumbai.

The airport has banks, currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, postal and mobile phone services, VIP lounges, public telephones and Wi-Fi access free of charge. Regus Express, in the Arrivals Hall of Terminal 2, is a business center with workstations and meeting and conference rooms.

Food and Drinks- Both terminals have restaurants, fast food outlets, coffee shops, icecream stores and bars. AMPM, in the Departures Hall of Terminal 1, and The Beer Café, in the International Departures area of Terminal 2, are open 24 hours a day.
Shopping- Duty-free items inside Terminal 2, in addition to convenience stores, accessories, apparel, books, music, footwear, gifts, jewellery, cosmetics, toys, alcoholic beverages.
Baggage- Trolleys available for free in the Arrivals and Departures areas. Secure luggage wrapping on level 4 of Terminal 2. Luggage storage next to the exits from the terminals (Tel +91 770 099 9331 / 9332). Lost and found offices next to the exit from Terminal 1 (Tel +91 993 014 4272) and on level 1 of Terminal 2 (Tel +91 961 905 0580 / 887 999 2371).
Other Services- Baby changing facilities, prayer rooms, smoking lounges, medical clinics, children's play area, pharmacies, flight simulator, spas.

 
 

Bus - BEST (Tel +91 1800 227 550) operates services throughout the city. Line 312 runs from Terminal 1 to Vile Parle (East) and Andheri (East) railway stations, stopping at Pratiksha, Guru Tegh Bahadur, Kapadia, Agarkar Chowk and Seepz. Route 321 goes from Terminal 2 to Vile Parle East, Machhimar, Mahim, Garware Chowk and Barve Nagar, while bus 308 heads for Andheri East, Vidya Vhar, Bail Bazar and Sahar.
There are also long-distance services provided by MSRTC (Tel +91 222 302 3900) from Mumbai to different locations in the country, which can be booked in the Arrivals area of Terminal 2. Destinations include Poona/Pune, Mangalore, Cannanore, Calicut and Trichur.

Train - There are three different lines (Western Line, Central Main Line and Harbour Line) that reach the entire city and its suburbs. The closest station to the terminal in Santacruz is Vile Parle East, while Andheri East is the nearest station to the terminal in Sahar. Journey time to the city centre is 30-45 minutes. Taxi - Vehicles available outside the Arrivals areas. Authorized companies include Ola Cabs (Tel +91 806 735 0900), Meru Cabs (Tel +91 961 985 4566) and Tab Cab (Tel +91 773 889 1635), with desks inside the terminals to arrange pre-paid trips. Travel time to downtown Mumbai is more than an hour, depending on traffic. There are also Auto Rickshaws, three-wheeler vehicles that offer cheaper transportation to the suburbs, from Bandra to Sion.

There are parking facilities next to both terminals, with standard and premium options, available 24 hours a day. There are also passenger pick-up and drop-off zones in front of the buildings and exclusive spaces for two-wheeler vehicles. Valet parking services opposite gates 2 and 6. Rates

 
 

Airlines can provide wheelchairs by request. Passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline about their needs at the time of their booking. Facilities include lifts, adapted toilets and reserved parking spaces. Children under 12 years old travelling alone will be escorted by the airline staff from the check-in process.
