Macau International Airport, opened on November 9, 1995, is one of the most important in China. Being inside an administrative region, special immigration procedures are required for flights between mainland China and Macau. It is the main air connection link between China and Taiwan. It also operates with the main destinations in the Far East and Southeast Asia.

The airport is located 3 km (1.8 miles) to the south of Macau city centre, in an artificial island linked by a highway to the main territory.See Map
There are car rental desks from companies Avis (Tel +853 2833 6789 / 2870 1786 - 8:00 am to 10:00 pm) and Happy Mokes (Tel +853 2843 9393 / 2872 6868).
The airport has banks, ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, post office and Wi-Fi access free of charge. The Plaza Premium Lounge is located next to gate 5 and opens from 5:00 am to 2:30 am; it provides refreshments, drinks, Wi-Fi, TV, air conditioning, newspapers and magazines, telephones, fax (access with Priority Pass, Lounge Club, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door).
Food and Drinks- There are some coffee shops, restaurants and fast food outlets both before and after the security checkpoint.
Shopping- In the Departures lounge there are duty-free shops. On the first floor there is also a convenience store.
Baggage- Luggage storage and secure wrapping 24 hours a day on the Departures level. Lost and found office on the ground floor (Tel +853 2886 1111).

Bus - Line 26 from Transmac (Tel +853 2827 1122) runs to Border Gate from 6:34 am to 11:46 pm, while routes AP1 and AP1X go to Portas do Cerco between 6:00 am and 0:20 am. Line 51A travels from Praia to Av. Vale Das Borboletas, and bus MT4 runs from Bacia Norte to Terminal Marítimo Provisório.
Line N2 from TCM (Tel +853 2885 0060) operates between 0:00 am and 6:00 am from Bacia Norte do Patane to Terminal Marítimo Provisório.
Bus 36 from NEWERA (Tel +853 2875 5210) connects the airport with Rotunda Leonel Sousa from 7:05 am to 11:50 pm, while line MT1 travels to Praceta 24 de Junho from 7:00 am to 9:32 pm.
The main hotels in the city provide courtesy shuttles that depart from the parking lot every 15-20 minutes between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm.
The Express Link (Tel +853 2886 1111 / 2888 1228) offers transportation to the Gongbei/Hengqin border, Hong Kong and Taipa Ferry.
There are also long distance coaches to different cities in the Guangdong province (Tel +853 2888 1228).
Ferry - The terminal is located about 10 minutes away from the airport. Frequent departures are available from there to Hong Kong, Shenzhen airport, Shekou and Guangzhou. The trip takes around 55 minutes. More information: Tel +852 2859 3333 / 800 3628 3628.
Taxi - Ranks are located on the lower level, outside the Arrivals Hall. Journey time to the city centre is around 10-15 minutes. More information: Tel +853 2893 9939 / 2828 3283.
Timetables and fares
The enclosure has two outdoor car parks, located at both ends of the terminal building. Vehicles parked for the first 9 hours are charged by the hour, but over 10 hours the daily fee will apply. Passengers requiring special assistance should get in touch with the airport's information counter. There are also ramps, elevators, accessible restrooms and telephones, and reserved parking spaces close to the terminal.
