Tunis-Carthage International Airport, opened in 1938, is the largest in the country. It operates with domestic and international flights to different destinations in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

Annual passenger traffic: Around 4.9 million passengers went through it in 2016.

Tunis airport is located 7 km (4 miles) to the northeast ot the city center.

Bus - Lines 35 and 635 from TRANSTU (Tel +216 7190 4894) depart every 30 minutes from 6:00 am, while a service from TUT (Tel +216 7133 1003), more luxurious and expensive, does so every 15 min. Buses link the airport with the Tunis-Marine train station, in Ville Nouvelle, and the trip takes 30 min.

Taxi - There are metered yellow cabs outside the Arrivals Hall. Fares are higher after 9:00 pm. Journey time to the city centre is approximately 20 minutes.

The airport has banks, currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, post office, VIP lounges and mobile phone services. Some accommodations in the surroundings, such as the Regency Hotel or the Golden Tulip Carthage, provide meeting and conference rooms.

Food and Drinks- Bars, coffee shops and restaurants, serving local and international food, at the back and front of customs.
Shopping- In the Arrivals and Departures areas there are duty-free stores, in addition to shops selling luxury goods and regional products.
Baggage- The information desks operate the lost and found service.
