Cape Town International Airport, opened in 1954, is the second busiest in South Africa. It operates with domestic flights and international destinations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Domestic Terminal and International Terminal, open 24 hours a day and within walking distance of each other.

Cape Town airport is located 22 km (15 miles) to the east of the city.

The offices are situated in front of the central building. Access is through underground walkways located on both sides of the terminals.

The airport has banks, ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, post office, VIP lounges, public telephones, mobile phone services and Wi-Fi access free of charge for 4 hours. The enclosure's conference center is located in the Southern Office Block, next to the domestic sector.

Food and Drinks- There is large gastronomic variety throughout the airport, with restaurants, bars, coffee shops and fast food outlets.
Shopping- Duty-free stores in the international area. There are also retailers selling souvenirs, electronics, fashion and accessories, jewellery, liquor, books, sweets, cosmetics.
Baggage- Porters, in black and orange uniforms, are available (Tel +27 733 090 268). Left luggage service and secure baggage wrapping on the ground floor of car park P2 (Tel +27 723 842 954). For enquiries about lost property, contact the information desk.
Other Services- Prayer room, baby changing facilities, smoking lounge, pharmacy, beauty salons, shoeshine.

 
 

Bus - Line A01 from MyCiTi (Tel +27 800 656 463) leaves every 30 minutes to the civic centre and operates from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm. Journey time is around 25 min.
There are also private buses to the city and other destinations throughout Western Cape provided by Sport Shuttle (Tel +27 861 447 4444), Citi Hopper (Tel +27 219 363 461) and Centurion Tours (Tel +27 824 726 216 / 861 115 388) that depart from the Arrivals area.

Taxi - The official airport operator is Touch-Down Taxis (Tel +27 836 520 786 / 825 697 555), with cabs available 24 hours a day outside the Arrivals Hall. The trip to the city centre takes about 20 minutes.

P1 - Five-storey facility to the north of the terminal. The first 30 minutes have no charge.
P2 - Parking lot with five levels situated to the south of the enclosure. Valet parking service on the ground floor.
P3 & P4 - Covered lots on both sides of the car rental area, accessible through pedestrian walkways.
P5 - For long stays, behind P4.
