Hosea Kutako International Airport, opened in 1965, is the largest in Namibia and the only international airstation in the country. It operates with domestic destinations and international flights to several locations in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

Windhoek airport is located 45 km (28 miles) to the east of the city of the same name.

The airport has currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, postal services and VIP lounges.

Food and Drinks- There are some restaurants and a coffee shop inside the terminal.
Shopping- Options are limited and include duty-free stores and gift shops.
Baggage- The lost and found offices are operated by Air Namibia (Tel +264 612 996 628 / 619) and South African Airways (Tel +264 6254 0268).

Bus - A service departs from outside the Departures Hall to the station located on Independence Avenue, in the city centre. There are also direct buses to Windhoek Eros Airport. Tickets can be acquired on the bus and schedules correspond to flight arrivals and departures. More information: Tel +264 812 572 188.
Sprint Shuttle Services (Tel +264 812 237 523), Elena Travel Services (Tel +264 6124 4443), Marenko Shuttle (Tel +264 6122 6331) and VIP Shuttle (Tel +264 812 563 657) offer door-to-door transportation to Windhoek and other locations in the area.

Taxi - Ranks are situated outside the Arrivals Hall. Official cabs have a black rectangle with a number and can be paid for in advance. The trip to the city centre takes around 40 minutes.

 
 

There are no accommodations inside the enclosure, but some hotels in the surroundings provide shuttle services for their guests. Inside the grounds there are different lots for short- and long-term parking.

 
 

There are ramps, adapted toilets and wheelchairs free of charge. Passengers requiring special assistance should notify their travel agent or airline about their particular needs in advance.
