Ivato International Airport, opened on March 4, 1931, is the most important in Madagascar and serves its capital, Antananarivo. It operates with domestic flights and international destinations in Africa and Europe.

The airport has a currency exchage bureau, ATMs and post office. Close to the enclosure is located the Centre de Conférences Internationales Ivato, with extensive business and conference facilities. In the Departures area is located the Air Madagascar Business Lounge, open during flight hours; it offers newspapers and magazines, TV, workstations, Wi-Fi, snacks, drinks (accessible for business class passengers from Air Madagascar).

Bus - There are shared minibuses (taxi-brousse), white in color, that leave from outside the airport entrance when full. Destinations and prices are displayed at the front of the vehicle.
Taxi - Vehicles available outside the Arrivals Hall. It is recommended to agree on a price with the driver before the journey. The trip to the city centre takes 30 minutes.
Outside the terminal there is a parking area for short and long stays that operates around the clock.
Passengers that require special assistance or wheelchairs are advised to notify their airline or travel agent about their particular needs in advance.
